Gold-Leafing
This is the process of adhering very thin sheets of gold, copper, or silver to glass. It can be done on sandblasted glass for a matte-gilding (less-shiny) effect or a technique called water gilding can be used to produce a mirror-shiny result. Gold leafed pieces are designed to be viewed from one side, so they work great in wall hangings, table tops, signs, and cabinet doors.
